After connecting to Supabase, onboarding is a breeze!
After connecting Supabase, onboarding walks you through everything Dreambase needs to start generating dashboards.
Step 1: Create your account
Create an account with Google, Github or email and password (you'll need to verify email).
Step 2: Connect to Supabase
We require a connection to an active Supabase organization to get started.
We request the most minimal permissions possible: mostly read, with read + write only for SQL queries (required by the Supabase MCP integration).
Step 3: Select a project
Once your Supabase connection succeeds, pick an active project from the dropdown and kick off analysis.
Analysis phase
Dreambase runs through several automated steps:
Creating secure connection — setting up your secure connection to Supabase.
Scanning your Supabase project — reviewing tables, relations, storage, and more.
Creating insights for your project — writing a detailed understanding of your project.
Analyzing security and performance — reviewing RLS, indexes, logs, and performance (this feeds directly into your Health report cards, see the Health doc).
Generating report recommendations — creating ideas for useful dashboards.
Finalizing project metrics — thoroughly analyzing your schemas and tables.
Storing your Supabase schema
After the secure API connection is established, Dreambase pulls the schema of your database and stores it as global context available to every dashboard and skill in the workspace. You can expand "View more…" to inspect the full schema, and toggle individual tables to see the column-level detail Dreambase has captured.
Step 4: KPI Skills
You'll be prompted to pick relevant context (tables and/or Skills) and add a short prompt describing what you want to see, and Dreambase builds a preview you can turn into a full dashboard with one click.
Step 5: Creating your first dashboard
The final step is generating your first dashboard via analyst chat. Work with our agent to talk through your goals, plan the dashboard, and build it.
