API Connectors

API Connectors

API connections let you plug external data and services directly into Dreambase. Once added, your APIs become part of the Dreambase Analyst Agent’s arsenal, meaning instant access for reports and dashboards.

Adding API Connectors (Integrations)

API connections let you plug external data and services directly into Dreambase, giving the Analyst Agent instant access to that data when generating dashboards and reports.

Plan availability

  • Pro subscribers can add any featured Connector from the Connectors catalog (see the Connectors doc) in one click, authenticating with OAuth or a simple API token. This covers the pre-built, supported integrations like Stripe, HubSpot, Sentry, and the rest of the catalog.

  • Team subscribers get everything Pro gets, plus the APIs tab described below, where you can register a completely custom API connection to any endpoint, not just the featured catalog. This is the path for internal tools, niche vendors, or anything not yet in the catalog.

Adding a featured API connector (Pro)

  1. Go to Connectors (previously "Marketplace").

  2. Click on the featured API to view details.

  3. Click for OAuth or enter an API Key (depending on the connection)

  4. Select the desired endpoints and save.

Adding a custom API connector (Team)

  1. Go to Connectors → APIs (previously "Workspace Settings → APIs").

  2. Click Add API.

  3. Fill in:

    • Name — a memorable identifier.

    • API Type — REST, GraphQL, etc.

    • Endpoint URL — base URL of the target API.

    • Auth Type — Bearer, X-Api-Key, or custom headers.

    • Auth Token — the authentication token/secret.

    • Custom Headers — any additional headers needed.

    • HTTP Method — usually GET.

  4. Click Test Connection to verify.

  5. Click Save to register the API.

What happens after you save

  • The Analyst Agent recognizes the new API automatically: no manual field mapping.

  • The API's data becomes available across dashboards, Skills, and Slack bot commands.

  • Toggle Schema (expose the API's schema for stronger typing) and AI Context (make it visible to agents automatically) from the connection's row.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Use clear, descriptive names so endpoints aren't confused with each other later.

  • Double-check auth tokens and header formatting; this is the most common source of failed test connections.

  • Always test the connection before saving.

  • If a connection fails, verify the endpoint URL, auth token, and header formatting first.
